Elderly Man Dies in Kochi Motorcycle Accident, Son-in-Law Injured

The collision occurred when a speeding taxi hit them from behind, causing their motorcycle to crash into a parked car. The police have taken the taxi driver into custody as investigations continue. Tragic Accident in Kochi

A tragic incident occurred in Kochi, Kerala, where a motorcycle collision resulted in the death of a 62-year-old man, while his son-in-law sustained serious injuries. The police reported this on Saturday.


The deceased has been identified as Saju, a resident of Kalamassery. His son-in-law, 33-year-old Ashish Nirmal, hails from Jarakkal.


According to police, the accident took place around 11:50 PM on Friday night in Kalamassery. The two were riding their motorcycle when a speeding taxi struck them from behind.


The impact of the collision was so severe that their motorcycle crashed into another parked car on the roadside, leaving both riders critically injured.


Authorities stated that the injured were rushed to a private hospital in Kalamassery, where Saju was pronounced dead. Nirmal remains in a critical condition and is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).


The Kalamassery police have registered a case against the taxi driver and taken him into custody.
