According to senior police officials, this incident occurred on Monday in the Ashabari area under the Kalamchowra police station jurisdiction, where security forces observed some suspected smugglers engaging in illegal activities linked to India and Bangladesh. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the troops acted swiftly and managed to detain one suspect. However, others on the opposite side of the border managed to escape. The detained suspect also fled the scene and spread false claims among local villagers that the security forces had assaulted him. This misinformation led to a large gathering of local men and women, who surrounded the troops' vehicles and attacked them with sticks, resulting in injuries to three personnel, including the company commander.
