In a recent incident at the central prison in Kannur, Kerala, authorities confiscated narcotics from an inmate just two days ago. Jail officials reported this development on Thursday.
During a routine inspection on Tuesday, two bottles of hashish oil were discovered in the possession of inmate Manoj.
The seized drugs were handed over to the police, and a formal complaint was filed against the inmate. According to police reports, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Kerala Jail and Correctional Services (Management) Act on Wednesday. Investigations are currently underway to determine how the drugs reached the inmate.
