Recently, a wedding took a shocking turn when the groom was found intoxicated just before the rituals began. Earlier, during the garland exchange ceremony, he was caught by friends who noticed him sneaking away to consume substances.

This incident led to a significant uproar at the wedding, resulting in the procession being sent back without the bride. Following a complaint from the bride's family, the police have initiated an investigation, filing a report against the groom, his brother, sister, and uncle.

The bride's mother revealed that they had booked a banquet hall for ₹2.5 lakh and arranged meals for approximately 450 guests. The groom arrived with the procession and, according to tradition, was gifted a gold chain, a gold ring, a smart watch, and ₹51,000. As preparations for the garland exchange began, the groom suddenly went missing.

Groom's Disappearance and Drug Use

Upon searching for him, it was discovered that he was hiding behind the stage with friends, consuming drugs. When questioned, he attempted to excuse himself by claiming he needed to go to the washroom. His behavior indicated that he was under the influence. After the garland exchange, as preparations for the vows commenced, he again retreated to consume more drugs.

When confronted, he insisted on going to the washroom, raising suspicions among the bride's family. They followed him and confirmed he was using drugs inside the washroom, leading to further chaos at the wedding. The bride's family then firmly refused to proceed with the marriage, resulting in a physical altercation with the groom's relatives.

Allegations of Dowry Demands

The situation escalated, prompting the bride's family to notify the police. They accused the groom's side of demanding a dowry of ₹10 lakh. The procession was sent back without the bride, and the bride's mother mentioned that they had borrowed ₹15 lakh for the wedding, resulting in significant financial loss. Both she and her daughter are now facing emotional distress due to the incident.
