D.K. Shivakumar Sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka

D.K. Shivakumar has officially taken the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. The ceremony was conducted by Governor Thawarchand Gehlot at 4:05 PM in the Glass House of Lok Bhavan. Alongside him, G. Parameshwara was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister. Additionally, 13 other legislators are set to take their oaths as ministers today, many of whom previously served in the cabinet under Siddaramaiah's administration. Prominent Congress leaders attending the event included Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, party president Mallikarjun Kharge, and Chief Ministers V.D. Satishan, A. Revant Reddy, and Sukhu. The ceremony also saw the presence of various religious leaders, students, municipal workers, farmer representatives, Dalit leaders, and Kannada activists.

Before the oath-taking ceremony, senior Karnataka Congress leaders G. Parameshwara, K.J. George, and U.T. Khader were seen greeting one another at Lok Bhavan. This interaction took place shortly before the ceremony commenced, as party leaders, legislators, and invited guests gathered at the venue. The presence of these senior leaders highlighted the unity within the Congress party as the new government prepares to take charge in Karnataka.


Rajeev Shukla: Leadership Change Will Strengthen Congress in Karnataka

Congress MP Rajeev Shukla congratulated D.K. Shivakumar ahead of the oath-taking ceremony, praising the decision made by the party's high command. Shukla expressed confidence that the appointment of a dynamic leader like Shivakumar would bolster the Congress party's position in the state and enhance its prospects in upcoming elections. He also commended Siddaramaiah for ensuring a smooth transition of power, noting that the outgoing Chief Minister displayed generosity by offering his blessings.
