Disruptive Behavior by Lawyer on IndiGo Flight from Delhi to Kolkata

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Kolkata faced chaos when a lawyer, allegedly intoxicated, began shouting religious slogans and misbehaving with the crew. The incident occurred while the aircraft was parked, leading to significant disruption for passengers. The airline confirmed the passenger's inappropriate behavior and noted that he had concealed alcohol in a soft drink bottle. Incident on IndiGo Flight 6E 6571

On September 1, a lawyer reportedly under the influence of alcohol caused a disturbance on IndiGo flight 6E 6571, which was traveling from Delhi to Kolkata. The passenger began shouting religious slogans such as 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Jai Shri Ram.'


As per reports from a media source, the aircraft was parked when the individual started to act disruptively, creating a scene with the cabin crew and other passengers.


The airline confirmed that the passenger was intoxicated and was behaving inappropriately towards the crew. It was also noted that he had liquor concealed in a soft drink bottle and made an inappropriate comment towards a crew member.


In a statement, the airline acknowledged the incident, stating, 'We are aware of an incident of unruly behaviour onboard IndiGo flight 6E 6571 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on 01 September 2025. One of the customers onboard, under the influence of alcohol, was found to be misbehaving with the cabin crew and disturbing fellow passengers.'


Sources indicated that while the passenger denied having alcohol in the bottle, he did admit to consuming alcohol prior to the flight. During discussions with the crew, he requested a crew member to chant religious slogans.


In a separate incident, IndiGo flight 6E 812, which was flying from Nagpur to Kolkata, experienced a bird strike shortly after takeoff. A spokesperson for the airline mentioned that due to the need for inspection and maintenance, the flight was canceled for the day.


The spokesperson added, 'IndiGo flight 6E 812 operating from Nagpur to Kolkata on 02 September 2025 encountered a bird strike soon after take-off. As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to return, and the flight landed safely at Nagpur airport.'
