Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has labeled madrasas as unacknowledged factories for producing terrorists. His comments were made in response to recent statements by Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin, who called for the abolition of madrasas in Bangladesh. Maurya emphasized that this issue transcends national borders, asserting that it is a widespread problem affecting multiple countries.

He reiterated that whether madrasas are located in Bangladesh, Pakistan, or India, they fundamentally serve as breeding grounds for terrorism. Maurya's remarks were a direct response to Nasrin's criticisms of the madrasa education system in Bangladesh, which she has advocated for abolishing. This has sparked a new political debate regarding the role of religious educational institutions in society.


Earlier, Maurya also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA alliance, accusing them of exploiting every issue to target the government while opposing all positive initiatives. In a conversation with media representatives, he pointed out that parties within the INDIA alliance, including the Samajwadi Party, had opposed the Women's Reservation Bill and used various issues to criticize the government.

Political Dynamics and Opposition Critique

Maurya stated that Rahul Gandhi and all parties in the INDIA alliance have consistently opposed women's reservation. He accused them of using every opportunity to attack the government. During protests against the NEET exam paper leak, they allegedly took advantage of student movements. He concluded that their approach is to resist every beneficial initiative, but he believes it will not have any significant impact.
