Deputy Chief Minister Agnihotri Announces HRTC Employee Arrears and New Initiatives

In a recent meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced a 3% arrears payment for HRTC employees, set to be disbursed by March 31, 2026. He also introduced the HIM Bus portal for online card applications and discussed various initiatives aimed at improving the financial health and services of HRTC. The meeting included significant decisions regarding new constructions and enhancements in bus stand management, reflecting the government's commitment to better transport facilities.

During the 162nd Board of Directors meeting of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced that employees will receive a 3 percent arrears payment by March 31, 2026, distributed in four installments. Additionally, he instructed the reimbursement of pending medical bills for the past six months.


Agnihotri also introduced the HIM Bus portal, allowing residents to apply for HIM cards online, which will be mailed to them later.


Furthermore, HRTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axis, UCO, and Punjab National Bank to enhance salary account benefits for employees. Currently, there are 6,000 Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the state, where ticket bookings can also be made.


The meeting addressed various topics, including the corporation's financial health, service expansion strategies, and employee-related matters. Agnihotri emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening HRTC and improving passenger services.


Earlier, he led the 72nd meeting of the Himachal Pradesh City Transport and Bus Stands Management and Development Authority (HPSCTBSMDA).


Agnihotri launched an 'Asset Management Application' for the Bus Stands Management and Development Authority, aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of bus stands and their assets.


During the meeting, it was reported that 410 shops have been leased at various bus stands statewide, generating a monthly revenue of Rs. 45 lakh.


The Board approved plans for a shopping and parking complex at Theog market and a multipurpose hall along with car parking at the Mandi bus stand.


He issued firm directives to accelerate construction at bus stands in Thunag, Darlaghat, Hamirpur, Baijnath, Bhoranj, and Fatehpur. The Deputy Chief Minister also called for the swift completion of the tender process for new bus stands in Bilaspur, Mandi-Bharari, Baddi, and Jaisinghpur, as well as the car parking and commercial complex at the old bus stand in Chamba.


Attendees of the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Transport R.D. Nazim, Vice Chairman HRTC Ajay Verma, Managing Director HRTC Dr. Nipun Jindal, Director Transport Neeraj Kumar, Special Secretary PWD Harbans Singh, Special Secretary (Finance) Vijay Vardhan, Special Secretary Tourism Vijay Kumar, along with non-official board members and senior officials from HRTC and BSMDA.
