Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Criticizes Kejriwal's Governance Record

In a pointed letter, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has criticized Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his lack of action over the past eleven years regarding the welfare of Delhi's citizens. Saxena accused Kejriwal of mocking the current government's efforts and highlighted the severe pollution issues in the city, suggesting that Kejriwal's previous dismissals of the problem reflect poorly on his leadership. The letter also mentions Kejriwal's alleged attempts to distance himself from accountability and his actions following electoral defeat. This exchange raises questions about the effectiveness of Kejriwal's governance.

VK Saxena's Letter to Arvind Kejriwal

On Tuesday, VK Saxena, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, addressed a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of failing to contribute to the welfare of the city's residents over the past eleven years. Saxena claimed that Kejriwal is now mocking the efforts of the current government, which has been in power for just ten months. He pointed out that Kejriwal has distanced himself from direct involvement, instead allowing party leaders to take the forefront, while he has settled in Punjab.

Saxena further stated that Kejriwal bears responsibility for the pollution issues in Delhi. He suggested that if Kejriwal had taken action during his eleven-year tenure, the pollution levels would not be as severe as they currently are. Reminding Kejriwal of his previous comments regarding pollution, Saxena recounted that when he raised the issue during Kejriwal's time as Chief Minister, Kejriwal dismissed it as a temporary concern that would soon be forgotten by the media and NGOs.

VK Saxena criticized Kejriwal for making grand announcements without any substantial follow-through. He emphasized that the public cannot be fooled indefinitely, referencing the electoral defeat Kejriwal faced. Saxena also alleged that after losing the election, Kejriwal blocked his phone number, revealing this when he attempted to call Kejriwal to extend Diwali greetings.
