On Tuesday morning, the air quality in Delhi continued to be classified as 'poor', with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 293, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) 'Sameer' app. Station-specific data revealed that Chandni Chowk experienced the worst air quality, registering an AQI of 352, which falls into the 'very poor' category.
Overall Air Quality Across Stations
In total, 20 stations reported 'very poor' air quality, while 15 stations fell into the 'poor' category, and two stations recorded 'moderate' air quality. According to CPCB classifications, an AQI of 0 to 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 is 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 is 'moderate', 201 to 300 is 'poor', 301 to 400 is 'very poor', and 401 to 500 is classified as 'severe'. The average AQI for the city over the past 24 hours was 244, also categorized as 'poor'. The air quality early warning system has indicated that the air quality in the city is likely to remain in the 'poor' to 'very poor' range for the next six days.
Weather Conditions in the Capital
Light fog was observed in some areas of the city, with the minimum temperature recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees Celsius higher than the seasonal average. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to be around 18 degrees Celsius.
Humidity Levels Reported
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the relative humidity level in some parts of the city reached 100 percent in the morning. Station-wise data indicated that the minimum temperature was 7.6 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Ridge, and Ayanagar, while Palam recorded a slightly lower minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius.
