Delhi Weather Update: Temperature Rise and Yellow Alert Issued

On Wednesday, a slight increase in temperature was observed in the capital, while the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a 'Yellow Alert' for the next two days, warning of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung, which represents the city's weather, was 39.1 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than the normal by 0.9 degrees but 1.4 degrees higher than the previous day. The minimum temperature was noted at 27.4 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees above normal and 0.6 degrees higher than Tuesday's readings.
In the Ridge area, the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.5 degrees Celsius, exceeding the normal by 1.4 degrees, while in Ayanagar, it reached 28.4 degrees Celsius, which is 2.3 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to hover around 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 147, falling into the 'moderate' category. The CPCB classifies AQI levels as follows: 0-50 is 'good', 51-100 is 'satisfactory', 101-200 is 'moderate', 201-300 is 'poor', 301-400 is 'very poor', and 401-500 is 'severe'.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi remained in the 'moderate' category on Wednesday. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board indicated that the average AQI at 4 PM was 143 (moderate), compared to 106 (moderate) at the same time on Tuesday.
According to CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 is 'satisfactory', 101-200 is 'moderate', 201-300 is 'poor', 301-400 is 'very poor', and 401-500 is 'severe'. The Air Quality Early Warning System (AQEWS) for Delhi predicts that the AQI will remain in the 'moderate' category for the next few days.
