New Delhi, August 31: A disturbing case has emerged involving the sexual assault of a three-year-old nursery student at a private institution in Bawana, Delhi. Authorities have taken a school bus driver into custody in relation to this incident, as confirmed by officials on Monday.

The suspect, named Vikas, had been employed as a bus driver at the school for approximately eight months. Reports indicate that he allegedly gained the child's trust by offering her chocolates, which led to multiple instances of abuse.

Vikas was apprehended on the school grounds after the child's identity and the allegations were verified during the investigation.

The situation came to light on the evening of August 19, when the child's family observed injury marks on her body, raising their concerns about her well-being.

Upon questioning by her mother, the girl mentioned a "bad uncle" at her school who would give her chocolates. Due to her young age, she could not provide a name, prompting her family to seek assistance from the school administration to identify the individual.

On August 24, the child was shown images of school staff and CCTV footage in an effort to identify the person she had described. Police reported that she recognized Vikas as the "bad uncle" she had referred to.

Following this identification, the school alerted the police, leading to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, resulting in the arrest of the bus driver.

Investigators are looking into claims that the accused followed the girl as she headed towards the bathroom, where he allegedly offered her chocolates and touched her inappropriately under the stairs.

During the investigation, authorities seized the suspect's mobile phone, which reportedly contained several videos of him giving chocolates to young children.

Police are currently working to identify the children featured in those videos, and counseling is being provided to ensure their safety and well-being.

Additionally, investigators have collected CCTV footage from various locations within the school, which is being analyzed to establish the timeline of events and determine if there were any other incidents involving the accused.
