New Delhi: A significant protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) unfolded near Parliament on Monday, prompting Delhi Police to call for calm and cooperation from demonstrators to uphold law and order.

In a message shared on X, the police urged protesters to act peacefully and avoid any unlawful or aggressive behavior during the demonstrations.

The police stated, "Delhi Police appeals to all protesters to maintain peace, exercise restraint and cooperate with the police in ensuring peace and public order."

They further requested that all participants behave peacefully, avoid engaging in illegal or violent actions, and follow the lawful instructions given by police officers on duty.

The public was also advised against believing or spreading rumors and unverified information, encouraging reliance on credible sources and cooperation with law enforcement to maintain harmony.

Thousands of young protesters gathered in central Delhi, facing police resistance including tear gas and baton charges as they attempted to breach barricades to reach Parliament, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

To manage the situation, police increased their presence, including paramilitary units, at critical locations and set up multilayered barricades to control movement and prevent disturbances.

Senior police officials were overseeing security measures on-site, with both uniformed and plainclothes officers strategically positioned.

Additionally, police intensified vehicle inspections at various entry points to the capital and around significant sites as a precautionary strategy.
