Delhi Government's Decision on Protesters

The Delhi Police has announced that it will not pursue legal action against participants of the protest led by the 'Cockroach People's Party' (Cozpa) in the national capital. This information was revealed in an order issued by the Delhi government on Thursday. The Home Department stated that if any arrests or detentions have already occurred in these cases, there will be a swift review of those arrests, and efforts will be made to expedite the release of those detained.

The Home Department's order emphasized, "The Delhi government does not intend to take any further punitive measures against individuals involved in the protests, and these cases will be considered closed without any additional action." However, it was noted that, according to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, individuals with a criminal background will not receive this protection. Following the violence during the 'Chalo Parliament' march organized by the Cockroach People's Party on July 20, the Delhi Police registered 13 FIRs.
