Delhi Police Successfully Rescues Missing Girls from Haridwar

In a commendable operation, the Delhi Police located and rescued three girls, including two minors, who had gone missing from Haridwar. The girls had fled due to family pressures regarding marriage, seeking independence and job opportunities in Delhi. After an extensive search involving local residents and technical surveillance, they were found safe in a hotel in Paharganj. The police have since initiated legal proceedings to address the situation appropriately.

New Delhi, Sep 9: On Wednesday, the Delhi Police successfully located and rescued three girls, including two minors aged 17 and 13, who had gone missing from Gangnahar in Haridwar. They were found in a hotel situated in the Paharganj area of the national capital.

An FIR was lodged at the Gangnahar Police Station on September 8, under Section 140(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a report about the girls' disappearance.

The case details were promptly communicated to the Station House Officer (SHO) at Nabi Karim Police Station in Delhi. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, a specialized team was formed to locate the missing girls.

This dedicated team included SI Neeraj Rathi, HC Jagsoran, Constable Amit, and Woman Constable Supriya, all operating under the guidance of Inspector/SHO Nabi Karim and the overall oversight of the ACP, Paharganj.

Utilizing location data and information from Roorkee police, the team executed a thorough search in the Arakashan Road and Paharganj regions. They showed the girls' photographs to local residents and hotel staff while inspecting multiple hotels in the vicinity.

The police also examined mobile tower data and IP-based information to refine their search area. Technical surveillance played a crucial role in pinpointing the girls' location.

Ultimately, the three girls were located at Hotel K.M. International on Arakashan Road in Paharganj and were safely brought back.

Initial conversations with the girls revealed that they had left home due to familial pressure regarding marriage. They expressed a desire to escape marriage, seek job opportunities in Delhi, and earn independently. After arriving in Delhi, they had checked into a hotel in Paharganj.

The girls were identified as S, born on September 10, 2007 (approximately 18 years old); S, born on January 1, 2009 (approximately 17 years old); and N, born on January 1, 2013 (approximately 13 years old).

Following the completion of necessary procedures, the girls were handed over to the officials at Gangnahar Police Station for further legal action as per the law.

Ongoing investigations and legal processes are being managed by the relevant Uttarakhand Police officials.
