Delhi Police Successfully Locate Over 1,300 Missing Individuals in 2025
Significant Recovery of Missing Persons
New Delhi, Jan 2: In a remarkable accomplishment over the past year, the Delhi Police managed to locate 1,303 individuals reported missing in 2025, which included 434 minors and 869 adults.
The South-West District Police undertook this initiative as part of 'Operation Milap,' a dedicated effort aimed at reuniting missing persons with their families.
In December alone, the South-West District Police successfully located 102 missing individuals, consisting of 35 children and 67 adults. These recoveries occurred between December 1 and December 31, facilitated by coordinated search efforts and thorough field investigations.
Amit Goel, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police for the South-West District, stated that the police teams worked tirelessly to bring back 35 missing or abducted children and 67 adults to their families.
Upon receiving reports of missing individuals, immediate action was initiated, with local police stations promptly launching search operations.
The police heavily relied on local intelligence and extensive field inquiries. They reviewed CCTV footage from surrounding areas and distributed photographs of missing persons and suspects at public locations such as auto-rickshaw stands, bus terminals, and railway stations. They also engaged with bus drivers, vendors, and shopkeepers to trace the whereabouts of the missing individuals.
Additionally, local informants were enlisted to assist in the search operations. Records from nearby police stations and hospitals were meticulously examined to gather potential leads. These collective efforts were instrumental in locating the missing individuals.
Thanks to these swift, coordinated, and strategic actions, the South-West District Police successfully traced 102 missing persons and children throughout December.
Here are brief details of successful operations conducted at various police stations during this period:
Police Station Kapashera: The staff traced 12 missing girls aged between 10 and 18 years, along with five missing adults (four males and one female). All were safely reunited with their families.
Police Station Palam Village: The team located four missing children (two boys and two girls aged 10 to 18) and 13 missing adults (eight males and five females), all of whom were successfully reunited with their families.
Police Station Vasant Kunj North: One missing minor girl and five missing adults (three males and two females) were located and reunited with their families.
Police Station Sagarpur: The staff traced eight missing children (two boys and six girls aged 10 to 18) and 16 missing adults (four males and 12 females), all of whom were reunited with their families.
Police Station Kishangarh: One minor and three missing adults (one male and two females) were located and reunited with their families.
Police Station Vasant Kunj South: Three missing children (one boy and two girls aged 10 to 18) and seven missing adults (three males and four females) were successfully recovered and reunited with their families.
Police Station R.K. Puram: Two missing females were traced and reunited with their families.
Police Station Vasant Vihar: Four missing adults (two males and two females) were located and safely reunited with their families.
Police Station Sarojini Nagar: One missing minor girl and five missing adults (two males and three females) were located and reunited with their families.
Police Station S.J. Enclave: Four missing adults (two males and two females) were traced and reunited with their families.
Police Station South Campus: Two missing children (one boy and one girl aged 10 to 18) were located and reunited with their families.
Police Station Delhi Cantt.: Three missing children (one boy and two girls aged 10 to 18) and three missing adult females were successfully traced and reunited with their families.
