Police Action Against Planned Protest

New Delhi: In a significant move, over 20 officers from the Delhi Police visited the home of Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, to deliver a notice prohibiting him from conducting a protest in Connaught Place. This action occurred just hours before the scheduled start of the event.

The protest, titled 'Lehra Do Tiranga', was set to take place at Central Park in Connaught Place at 5 PM.

To maintain order, the Delhi Police have deployed more than 6,000 personnel along with 220 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), each consisting of 100 members, throughout the New Delhi area.

Authorities have denied permission for the march, referencing prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which restrict mass gatherings in Connaught Place and nearby regions.

Instead, police have proposed allowing a limited number of protesters to display the national flag at a different location.

Additionally, the New Delhi Municipal Council has announced that Central Park will be closed to the public on Friday and Saturday for administrative purposes.
