Delhi Police Denies Extension for CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar

The Cockroach People's Party (CJP) faced a setback as the Delhi Police denied their request to extend a protest at Jantar Mantar. Founder Abhijeet Dipke vowed to continue the demonstration until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Despite the police's efforts to disperse the crowd, Dipke urged supporters to maintain the peaceful protest, even in the face of potential arrests. He plans to initiate a 'Jail Bharo Andolan' across various districts, emphasizing the need for accountability in the education system. The situation remains tense as the CJP rallies support for their cause.

CJP's Protest Faces Police Resistance

The Delhi Police rejected the request from Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach People's Party (CJP), to extend the protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. Officials stated that the protest was only permitted until 5 PM. Despite this, Dipke insisted that he would not vacate the area until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, urging the police to allow the demonstration to continue.

After the 5 PM deadline, law enforcement began clearing the protest site. Dipke later posted a video claiming that an attempt was being made to arrest him. In a message shared on X, he stated, "The police are about to arrest me. I urge you all, even if I am taken into custody, do not let this peaceful protest across the country stop!"

Dipke is planning to initiate a 'Jail Bharo Andolan' in various districts. Anticipating his arrest, he called on his supporters to keep the protests alive. In such movements, participants voluntarily surrender to highlight their demands. The CJP accused the police of dismissing their request to continue the peaceful protest.

In a tweet, the CJP stated, "The police have rejected our plea to extend our peaceful protest. Instead, they are preparing to arrest our founder, Abhijeet Dipke. We appeal to all citizens, students, parents, and everyone who cares about the education system to come to Jantar Mantar in Delhi."

Addressing a large crowd of students and supporters at the second protest at Jantar Mantar, Dipke spoke about alleged irregularities in exams, paper leaks, and the demand for government accountability. He emphasized that while the door for dialogue remains open, it hinges on the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The young leader requested authorities to extend their permission, noting that youth from across the country had gathered and wished to remain until justice is served. "This protest has been peaceful; we are merely innocent students seeking justice," he added.
