Delhi Police Arrest Suspects in Brigade Attack Case

In a significant development, the Delhi Police have arrested suspects linked to an attack on the son of a brigade officer. Arrests Made in Brigade Attack Incident

The Delhi Police have apprehended suspects involved in the attack on a brigade officer. The individuals have been identified as Surjeet Singh (36), Sunil Sharma (53), and Ashish (32), all residents of Mehram Nagar in Delhi, along with Satender (35) from Bhiwani, Haryana. This development follows allegations made by Tejas Singh Arora, the son of the brigade officer, who claimed that he and his father were attacked by a group of unidentified individuals in a residential society in the national capital on Monday.

The police have also recovered the vehicle used in the incident, and investigations are ongoing. In an interview, Arora recounted that around 10 PM, he and his father encountered a group of people allegedly drinking alcohol inside a Mercedes car within the residential area.

As this was occurring in a residential society, where public drinking is illegal, they confronted the group. The individuals claimed to be local residents and refused to leave. Arora then called the PCR van, but when the police arrived, the officer declined to register their complaint. Instead, the man drinking alcohol arranged for a phone call with the officer, after which the officer refused to take their report.

Subsequently, 7 to 8 men arrived in two cars, totaling around ten individuals at the scene. When they went to the police station, they were initially denied the opportunity to speak for about half an hour. Eventually, the police instructed them to undergo a medico-legal case (MLC) examination, stating that they would file a report based on the results. After waiting for an hour, they decided to go to the Army's R&R hospital, where their MLC report was prepared and later sent to the police station. This afternoon, in collaboration with the Indian Army's Corps of Military Police (CMP) and their support staff, the police initiated the FIR filing process.

The individuals drinking in the car are reportedly from Mehram Nagar and have a business background.

Police Investigation Underway

Following the incident, Delhi police officials confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS based on a complaint from the officer's wife, and an investigation has commenced. They stated that the matter has been taken seriously, and efforts are being made to locate the suspects, who have now been arrested.
