Police Action Following Viral Stunt Video
On Sunday, the Delhi Police apprehended five individuals linked to a viral video showcasing a group of men performing perilous stunts on the city's streets using high-speed cars. Authorities confirmed that four vehicles allegedly involved in the incident have also been seized.
The video, which surfaced on the social media platform 'X', depicted several cars weaving dangerously through traffic on the Ring Road at high speeds. In the footage, some individuals could be seen shouting while hanging out of the moving cars' windows and on their roofs.
Following the video's release, numerous social media users urged the police to take immediate action, highlighting the serious threat to public safety. According to police reports, the video came to their attention on December 27 and appears to have been recorded around 10:44 PM on December 26, as the cars traveled from ITO towards Sarai Kale Khan and Noida.
In a statement, the police noted, 'Considering the seriousness of the case and concerns regarding public safety, action was taken, and an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.'
During the investigation, five suspects were arrested on Sunday, and four vehicles were recovered. The accused have been identified as Almas Arshad (20), Sarfaraz (26), Mohammad Imran Qureshi (23), Mohammad Shabbir (23), and Saad Abdullah (22), all residents of Delhi.
