Significant Arrests in Karol Bagh

In Delhi, amidst a surge in snatching and robbery incidents, law enforcement has made a notable breakthrough. Two individuals were apprehended in the Karol Bagh area, one of whom has an alarming record with over 70 criminal cases registered against him.

On Thursday evening, the Delhi police received a tip-off about two suspicious individuals near Mata Sundari College. A police team quickly set up a trap in the vicinity. Shortly after, two young men were spotted arriving on a motorcycle—one identified as Sameer, alias Kamran from Bhajanpura, and the other as Sameer from Karawal Nagar. Upon stopping them, officers discovered a woman's purse in their possession. When questioned, both attempted to flee, but the police managed to catch them after a brief chase.

Over 70 Cases Registered
During interrogation, it was revealed that Kamran is not just an ordinary thief but a seasoned criminal involved in serious offenses such as snatching, robbery, and even arson. He has over 70 cases against him. Authorities indicated that he was also wanted in a case at the Jafrabad police station, where he allegedly set a shop on fire and demanded a ransom of one crore rupees from the shop owner.

Daily Earnings from Theft
The second suspect, Sameer, comes from a financially struggling family. According to police, he needed money for his sister's wedding, which Kamran exploited to recruit him into his gang. Kamran lured him with the promise of earning 2,000 rupees daily for assisting in snatching.

Investigation Ongoing
The duo used to ride a motorcycle, wore helmets, and concealed their license plates to avoid detection. Police noted that they had previously been arrested in a snatching case registered at the IP Estate police station. Following their arrest, officers recovered a stolen handbag, a mobile phone, and various other items from their possession. Currently, the police are searching for their accomplices and the motorcycle used in the crimes.
