Court Ruling on Social Media Account

On Friday, the Delhi High Court ruled that the Twitter account of the 'Cockroach People's Party' should be unblocked. The bench, led by Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma, approved the petition filed by the party's founder, Abhijit Dipke. The court noted that the primary concern of the central government, which led to the account's blockage, is no longer relevant as the NEET examination has already concluded. According to reports from 'Live Law', this reasoning was pivotal in the court's decision.

During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the central government, expressed that the main reason for blocking the party's Twitter account was the potential chaos that could arise from its posts during the NEET examination, affecting students and parents.

Resolution of Concerns

Taking this argument into account, the court stated that since the examination has now taken place, the issue raised by the government has been resolved. Consequently, the court ordered the unblocking of the 'Cockroach People's Party' Twitter account. Additionally, the High Court accepted Dipke's petition, asserting that the government's concerns regarding the NEET examination have become irrelevant following its conclusion.
