Consequently, residents in Delhi can receive a total financial assistance of ₹1.08 lakh for installing a 3 kW solar system.

State Top-Up Under 'PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme'

The Delhi government has launched a scheme named 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana State Top-Up', aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the central initiative. Under this scheme, the Delhi government will offer an additional subsidy of up to ₹30,000 at a rate of ₹10,000 per kilowatt. This will enable residents to install solar panels without any upfront costs and save an average of ₹4,200 on their monthly electricity bills.

To facilitate the installation of solar panels, the Delhi government has partnered with banks and financial institutions to cover the remaining cost (approximately ₹90,000).
