Delhi Government Approves Electric Vehicles for Ride-Sharing Services

In a significant move, the Delhi government has approved the use of privately owned electric vehicles for shared taxi services. This initiative aims to enhance transportation options in the city, with cab aggregator companies promising to launch these services within a month. Additionally, there are plans to introduce taxis driven by female drivers. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been actively engaging with automobile manufacturers and aggregator firms to discuss the implementation of shuttle services along the Ring Road. However, the inclusion of private EVs and BS-6 vehicles as taxis will require changes to current regulations. This development marks a step forward in promoting sustainable transportation in Delhi.
