Salary Boost for Disaster Management Workers in Delhi

New Delhi, August 2 - The Delhi government has implemented a remarkable salary increase of up to 100% for disaster management personnel, marking the first raise in over 16 years. The last adjustment to their pay occurred in 2009.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced this decision on Sunday, stating that the revision of salaries for disaster management staff was essential, as there had been no changes for over a decade and a half.

This decision will benefit employees working under the Delhi State Disaster Management Authority, including project officers, district project officers, and project coordinators. These positions were established in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme in 2009.

Since then, the monthly salaries for these personnel remained unchanged, with project officers and district project officers earning ₹25,000, while project coordinators received ₹20,000 per month.
