Rainfall and Weather Alerts in Delhi

New Delhi, July 28 - Parts of Delhi witnessed rainfall on Tuesday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, predicting further rain in several areas of the national capital over the next few hours. According to IMD, the Safdarjung weather station recorded 32.4 millimeters (mm) of rain by 8:30 AM.

Additionally, rainfall measurements included 37.6 mm at Ridge, 36.7 mm at Lodhi Road, 4 mm at Aya Nagar, and 0.8 mm at Palam. The weather department has warned of moderate rain and strong winds in these regions, maintaining the orange alert for several parts of the city.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 25.5 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees Celsius below normal. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that the air quality index (AQI) in the capital stood at 77 at 9 AM, falling within the satisfactory range. The AQI classification indicates that values between 0-50 are considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and 401-500 severe.
