The court's criticism of the CBI's handling of the case adds another layer to this unfolding political saga.

Major Ruling in Delhi Excise Policy Case

In a significant ruling, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Telangana MLC K. Kavitha, and all 23 accused individuals, have been cleared of charges in the Delhi Excise Policy case investigated by the CBI. The Rouse Avenue Court determined that there was "no evidence" of criminal conspiracy or wrongdoing in the formulation of the excise policy.

Court's Observations

Special Judge Jitendra Singh acquitted Kejriwal, who was designated as accused number 18, along with Sisodia and the others. The court stated that the allegations lacked substance and that no criminal intent could be established. The judge remarked, "There was no major conspiracy or criminal intent in the excise policy."

Criticism of CBI's Actions

The court harshly criticized the CBI for attempting to implicate the leaders without solid evidence. The judge pointed out several deficiencies in the extensive charge sheet and noted that witness statements did not support the claims. Furthermore, the court indicated that the CBI failed to establish a prima facie case against Sisodia and that Kejriwal was wrongfully implicated without substantial proof.

Emotional Response from Kejriwal

Following the court's decision in the Delhi Excise Policy case, Arvind Kejriwal expressed his emotions while speaking to the media. He stated, "I am not corrupt. The court has affirmed that Manish Sisodia and I are honest." This moment signifies relief for Kejriwal and the party leadership after a prolonged legal battle. Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, also took to social media to express, "Truth always prevails."
