DC School Cup Returns for a Second Edition

The Delhi Capitals have officially announced the return of the DC School Cup, following the success of its inaugural edition in 2025. This tournament has quickly become one of the most thrilling cricket experiences for school students in the Delhi-NCR region.

Tournament Expansion and Features

Kicking off on October 9, the tournament has expanded significantly, featuring 38 teams this year—32 boys' teams and six girls' teams—along with a total of 66 matches held across four venues. This growth from 20 teams in 2025 to 38 in 2026 reflects the enthusiastic response from schools and players. The tournament will follow an enhanced league and knockout format, culminating in the final scheduled for early November. Each school will don distinct colored kits, and the latter stages will include live commentary, music, and other engaging elements to enrich the experience for all participants.

Fostering Emerging Talent

The inaugural edition highlighted the tournament's role in nurturing young talent, with two players advancing to Season 3 of the Delhi Premier League. This year, the DC School Cup will introduce the DC Future XI, which will honor standout players from the competition. Additionally, ten talented young cricketers will have the chance to participate in a training session with the Delhi Capitals.

CEO's Vision for a Professional Experience

Sunil Gupta, CEO of Delhi Capitals, expressed his excitement about the second edition, stating, "The first edition revealed the immense talent and passion among young cricketers in Delhi-NCR. The positive response indicated a demand for a larger platform. This year, we aim to enhance the tournament while ensuring a memorable experience for every participant. For many, cricket is a cherished dream, and we want to bring that dream closer to reality."

He further added, "By providing special kits, a competitive environment, and a glimpse into the professional world, we hope to create lasting memories for these young players. The success of last season's participants in the Delhi Premier League showcases the potential of these opportunities, and we aspire to create many more such moments this year."

Professional Setup and Experience

The tournament's structure includes a Captain's Meet, where captains from participating schools received their official DC School Cup kits. With matches taking place at four venues, the tournament will ensure organized match operations, medical support, dedicated areas for players and teams, live commentary, and matchday branding. This setup aims to provide a professional sporting atmosphere for all schools involved.

The second edition of the DC School Cup signifies the franchise's ongoing commitment to promoting school cricket and developing grassroots talent in Delhi-NCR, building on the success of its first edition to create an engaging and unforgettable cricket experience.
