Inauguration of the Budget Session
The budget session of the Delhi Assembly commenced on Monday with the traditional 'Kheer Ceremony'. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated the vision of 'Developed Delhi, Green Delhi'. She stated that the upcoming budget would be a significant step towards fulfilling the aspirations of nearly 30 million residents of Delhi. According to a press release from the Chief Minister's office, Gupta mentioned that the 'Kheer Ceremony' not only marks the traditional start of the budget process but also symbolizes prosperity, auspiciousness, and a commitment to public welfare, which will be reflected in the forthcoming budget.
Diverse Attendance at the Ceremony
Alongside the Chief Minister, the event saw participation from farmers, school students, teachers, doctors, members of the transgender community, female drivers, and media personnel. During the ceremony, farmers honored Chief Minister Gupta by presenting her with a traditional turban. Cabinet ministers including Pravesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Inderraj Singh, and Kapil Mishra, along with several legislators and dignitaries, were also present.
