Appointment of New Chief of Defence Staff
New Delhi: The Indian government has officially named Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani as the new Chief of Defence Staff.
He will take over from Gen Anil Chauhan, whose term concludes on May 30.
In addition to his new role, Lt Gen Subramani will also serve as the secretary for the Department of Military Affairs, as stated by the defence ministry.
Currently, he is acting as a military adviser at the National Security Council Secretariat.
Previously, he held the position of Vice Chief of the Army Staff from July 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025.
