Itanagar, Dec 27: A collaborative helicopter-borne troop insertion exercise was executed by the Indian Army alongside the Assam Rifles in the strategically significant Vijaynagar salient located in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh. This operation aimed to evaluate rapid deployment capabilities and enhance operational readiness in challenging and remote terrains, as stated by a defence official on Saturday.
The exercise, which took place on Friday, involved the swift induction of acclimatized troops into a simulated operational zone to gauge their preparedness for addressing emerging security threats.
According to defence spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat, the drill emphasized speed, coordination, and precision to ensure effective execution under conditions that closely mimic real scenarios.
He noted that the operation highlighted the forces' capability to deploy troops quickly and effectively in demanding environments.
The troops involved exhibited exceptional professionalism, adaptability, and combat readiness throughout the exercise, as per the spokesperson's remarks.
This joint drill also fostered improved coordination and mutual understanding between the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army, thereby enhancing their overall operational capabilities.
Lt. Col. Rawat further mentioned that such exercises are vital for refining standard operating procedures, boosting interoperability, and strengthening collective response strategies in strategically sensitive regions.
