Significant Addition to India's Naval Strength

A major milestone has been achieved in enhancing India's maritime capabilities with the induction of the third indigenous nuclear-powered submarine, INS Aridhaman, into the navy. This accomplishment is regarded as crucial from both technical and military perspectives.

Indigenous Technology at Its Core

INS Aridhaman belongs to the Arihant class of submarines and has been predominantly developed using domestic technology. Reports indicate that approximately 90% of its components utilize technology developed within the country, marking a significant step towards self-reliance.

Advanced Operational Capabilities

This submarine operates on a nuclear reactor, allowing it to remain submerged for extended periods without the need to surface frequently. It is also reported to have high speed, enabling rapid repositioning underwater.

Enhanced Firepower and Capacity

Compared to its predecessors, INS Aridhaman is heavier and more capable. Its missile launch capacity has been doubled, and its striking range has significantly increased, allowing it to target enemy positions from great depths.

Versatile Missile Deployment

The submarine can be equipped with various types of ballistic missiles, capable of striking targets hundreds to thousands of kilometers away. Future upgrades may include longer-range missile systems.

Joining an Elite Group

Previously, INS Arihant and INS Arighat were also inducted into the navy. With these submarines, India joins a select group of nations possessing nuclear-capable submarines.

Introduction of INS Taragiri

During the same event, another modern warship, INS Taragiri, was commissioned. This vessel exemplifies advanced technology and indigenous manufacturing capabilities, with significant contributions from the country's small and medium enterprises, bolstering the domestic defense industry.

Prepared for Diverse Maritime Operations

INS Taragiri is designed for high speed, long-range operations, and various maritime missions. It is equipped with modern weapon systems and advanced control mechanisms, enabling swift responses to threats.

Strengthening National Defense

Overall, the induction of both INS Aridhaman and INS Taragiri is seen as a significant advancement in enhancing India's maritime security and strategic capabilities, promising to bolster the nation's defense preparedness.
