Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has made a notable comparison between Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic and former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni during her visit to Wimbledon 2026.


On July 2, Deepti realized her long-held aspiration of attending the prestigious grass-court Grand Slam in London. The 29-year-old had recently participated in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, where Team India faced elimination after a loss to Australia in their final group match at Lord’s on June 28.


After the Women in Blue concluded their campaign at the tournament, Deepti chose to visit the All England Club to experience the ambiance of one of the most esteemed tennis events globally, a venue she had only admired from her television screen previously.


Drawing Comparisons: Resilience and Calmness

In an interview with Jio Hotstar during the tournament, Deepti Sharma emphasized the mental resilience and composure that characterize both Novak Djokovic and MS Dhoni, who are celebrated as two of the finest competitors in their sports for their ability to perform under pressure.


"When discussing Djokovic, his mental fortitude is often highlighted. He is someone who never backs down, regardless of how challenging the situation becomes," remarked the Indian all-rounder.


"In cricket, MS Dhoni exhibits similar traits. He is renowned for his calm demeanor, effectively managing high-pressure situations without appearing flustered. His ability to handle pressure is remarkable."

"My favorite is Djokovic. I closely follow his matches. His fighting spirit, mental strength, and relentless attitude are truly inspiring," Deepti noted.


"I have always watched greats like Federer and Nadal, but recently, Djokovic has captured my attention more than anyone else," she added.
