Former Cricketer's Strong Remarks

Deep Dasgupta, a former Indian cricketer, has expressed his disapproval of the unsportsmanlike actions displayed by Pakistani players Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf during the recent Super Four match between India and Pakistan. The Indian team successfully chased down a target of 172 runs, winning the match by six wickets.

The game was marked by several intense moments, including confrontations involving Indian players Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill with Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. Controversy arose when Sahibzada Farhan mimicked shooting a gun with his bat, while Haris Rauf made gestures resembling a falling plane and a 6-0 sign.

Dasgupta criticized Farhan's celebration as being highly inappropriate, stating, "How can you be so insensitive? You performed well and scored 50 runs, but this behavior is unacceptable. Many have lost their lives, and families are grieving. Celebrating in such a manner is beyond comprehension."

He further elaborated on the need for maturity in sports, emphasizing that at this level, it's not just about skill but also mental maturity. He remarked, "This is childish behavior. The rivalry should not overshadow the respect and maturity expected at this level of competition."

Dasgupta echoed the sentiments of Suryakumar Yadav, who mentioned that there is no real rivalry between adults and children, highlighting the contrasting reactions from both teams during the match.
