Tragic Flood Incident in Himachal Pradesh

In a tragic turn of events, the death toll from the sudden flooding in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, has now reached six. This unfortunate update was confirmed by local authorities on Wednesday.


Aditi Singh, the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) for Kangra, reported on Friday evening that the latest body was discovered near a hydropower project site in the vicinity of Khaniyara village, bringing the total fatalities to six.


Singh further noted that the search and rescue operations, which involve the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, and Home Guards, faced interruptions due to the heavy rainfall. Efforts to locate two additional missing individuals will resume on Saturday morning.
