Recognition for a Progressive Farmer


Guwahati, August 12: Dipti Sahariah, a farmer from Gariapara village in Darrang district, has received an invitation from President Droupadi Murmu to attend the 'At Home' reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre in New Delhi on the evening of August 15, coinciding with Independence Day celebrations.


At 58 years old, Sahariah is recognized as a progressive woman farmer and serves as the managing director of Siroheuji Women Farmer Producer Company Limited, a prominent FPC in the Darrang district.


She is a participant in the Atmanirbhar Oilseeds Abhiyan Scheme, and her FPC has been chosen as a value chain partner for rapeseed and mustard cultivation in the area.


Her agricultural endeavors include the cultivation of oilseeds such as rapeseed, mustard, sesame, and groundnut, among other crops.


Additionally, she holds a position on the Block Farmer Advisory Committee, representing the Agri-Farmer category in her district.
