Daring Love: Young Woman Defies Parents for Relationship
A Bold Decision
A young woman from Dungargarh has made headlines after revealing that she feels threatened by her parents, who raised her for 22 years. This dramatic turn of events stems from a relationship she developed on Instagram over the past year and a half.
The young woman expressed that her parents have lost their own dignity through their actions.
It has become increasingly common to see young women leaving their families for relationships formed online, often through platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Families of these girls frequently find themselves hiding from societal judgment. In some cases, these young women even approach the police, claiming threats from their own families.
In a recent incident, 22-year-old Lakshmi Nai from Dungargarh ran away to be with Akashdeep, a resident of Sardarshahr. The couple prepared a cohabitation agreement and subsequently sought protection from the local police. Lakshmi shared that she met Akashdeep on Instagram about a year and a half ago.
Their relationship blossomed through phone conversations, leading them to decide on marriage. However, when Lakshmi informed her parents about Akashdeep two months ago, they disapproved after hearing negative comments about him, including allegations of gambling and substance abuse.
Lakshmi's parents, influenced by others' opinions, dismissed her feelings. She stated that if her parents do not value their own dignity, why should she care about it? Lakshmi emphasized her desire to live life on her own terms, having completed her education up to the 12th grade. She mentioned that they had always wanted to be together but lacked the opportunity.
While Lakshmi's parents were searching for a suitable match for her, she chose to defy their expectations and left home to join Akashdeep in Sardarshahr. They prepared the necessary documents to live together. When they approached the police station, Lakshmi's parents arrived as well, pleading with her to return home.
Despite her parents' tears, Lakshmi remained resolute, holding Akashdeep's hand as they left the police station. She revealed that she works in tailoring while Akashdeep is employed at an electrician's shop. Lakshmi expressed fears for her safety from her family, prompting them to seek police protection. Akashdeep assured that he is committed to taking good care of Lakshmi and supporting her for life.
