Incident Overview
धौलपुर । In a shocking incident in the Dholpur district of Rajasthan, a notorious drug trafficker managed to escape from police custody while being interrogated under the NDPS Act. The escape has sent shockwaves through the local police department.
Following the incident, multiple police teams have been formed to track down the fugitive, who remains at large despite ongoing raids at various suspected locations. Background of the Case
On the night of October 16, police from the Maniya station executed a significant operation near Bagcholi Khar village on NH-44, arresting two traffickers from Andhra Pradesh, Srinivas and JDM Amar Chaitanya. They seized approximately 261 kilograms of marijuana valued at around ₹1.30 crore, which was being transported from Andhra Pradesh to Rajasthan. While Amar Chaitanya was remanded to judicial custody, the main trafficker, Srinivas, was being interrogated at the Diholi police station.
In a brazen move, Srinivas managed to escape by breaking a window and evading the police personnel on duty. The news of his escape has left the police administration in a state of panic, especially since Srinivas has several serious trafficking cases registered against him across various police stations in the country. His escape highlights significant lapses in police security protocols.
Ongoing Search Operations
Currently, police teams are conducting extensive searches and setting up checkpoints in the area to recapture the fugitive. The situation underscores the urgent need for improved security measures within police facilities to prevent such incidents in the future.
