Dalhousie and Bakloh Cantonment Boards Celebrate International Yoga Day with Community Spirit

The Dalhousie and Bakloh Cantonment Boards celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with enthusiasm, focusing on the theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health.' The event featured a live address from Prime Minister Modi, group yoga sessions, and a signature campaign promoting health and environmental conservation. Participants included local dignitaries, school children, and community members, all committed to integrating yoga into their daily lives for a healthier society and planet. This celebration highlighted the importance of yoga as a holistic lifestyle choice.
 

Celebrating Yoga Day in Dalhousie and Bakloh

Dalhousie: The Dalhousie and Bakloh Cantonment Boards came together to enthusiastically observe the 11th International Yoga Day, embracing the global theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” This theme highlighted the vital link between environmental health and overall human wellness.



The festivities commenced at 6:30 AM with a live stream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Visakhapatnam. After the address, participants engaged in a group session of the common yoga protocol (CYP), led by qualified yoga instructors.



In Dalhousie, the event saw a diverse turnout, including Mabel Christian, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dalhousie Cantonment Board, nominated member Vinod Mahajan, educators and students from PM Shri Cantonment Middle School-Dalhousie, as well as local residents and cantonment staff. The yoga session was well-organized, featuring visual aids and posters that illustrated various yoga poses and their advantages.



To enhance the day's significance, a signature campaign was conducted under the theme “One Earth, One Health,” where participants committed to prioritizing their health and environmental stewardship.



Meanwhile, the Bakloh Cantonment Board held its own yoga celebration with equal enthusiasm. Speakers on a beautifully adorned stage emphasized the physical, mental, and ecological advantages of practicing yoga. Numerous local dignitaries, school children, Army personnel, and cantonment staff participated in the event.



The Chief Executive Officers of both cantonments expressed their sincere appreciation to all attendees, volunteers, and medical teams for their contributions to the event's success. They emphasized that yoga transcends physical exercise, representing a holistic lifestyle that promotes community health and unity.



The celebration concluded with a collective commitment to integrate yoga into daily routines, fostering healthier individuals, a more connected community, and a greener planet.
