Dalai Lama's Upcoming Trip for Medical Care

On June 5, the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, will depart from Dharamshala to New Delhi for treatment on his left knee. This information was shared through a post on his official Facebook account. The announcement indicated that after his recovery, the Dalai Lama plans to visit Ladakh at the end of June, where he intends to stay for an extended period.


Earlier, on Wednesday, the Dalai Lama formally received a Grammy Award for the album 'Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama' during a special ceremony held at his office in Dharamshala.

The award was presented by sarod player Amjad Ali Khan along with his sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash. Speaking to the media, Amjad Ali Khan expressed, "We have played the sarod with our sons, Amaan and Ayaan. We are here to present this Grammy award to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, accompanied by his voice."

Ayaan Ali Bangash described winning the Grammy and collaborating with the Dalai Lama as a "blessing." He stated, "Being here is a tremendous honor for us, and we feel very fortunate. It is a blessing for us. We are grateful to His Holiness for blessing this project and allowing us to be a part of it. All of this was made possible through His Holiness's blessings." Earlier this year, the Dalai Lama won an award in the audiobook category, where he was nominated alongside works by Kathy Garver, Trevor Noah, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Fab Morvan.
