Cuttack Celebrates Independence Day with a Vibrant Walkathon: A Tribute to Unity and Youth Empowerment

The event, which saw participation from hundreds of NCC cadets and local citizens, aimed to promote national pride, physical fitness, and community bonding. With speeches highlighting youth empowerment and civic responsibility, the walkathon concluded with a salute to the national flag and the National Anthem, celebrating the spirit of freedom and unity. A Colorful Walkathon Marks Independence Day


Cuttack: In celebration of the 79th Independence Day, a lively walkathon took place at Baliyatra Ground, organized by the NCC Group Headquarters in Cuttack, in partnership with the Odisha Juba Prasiskshan Trust (OJPT).


The event was inaugurated by Surendra Kumar Swain, the chairman of OJPT, and saw enthusiastic participation from numerous NCC cadets, youth volunteers, and local residents.


This walkathon aimed to foster unity, discipline, national pride, physical fitness, and community spirit.


During his speech, Swain remarked, “This Walkathon not only commemorates our Independence but also embodies youth empowerment, civic duty, and national solidarity.


OJPT is honored to collaborate with NCC in cultivating patriotic, socially responsible, and healthy young individuals for a promising future.”


The event was overseen by Commander Sushant Mohanty, Commanding Officer of the 3 Odisha Naval Unit NCC, representing the NCC Group Headquarters in Cuttack.


In his address, Commander Mohanty emphasized, “The NCC has consistently fostered discipline, leadership, and a service-oriented mindset among the youth.


This Independence Day Walkathon reinforces our dedication to freedom, fitness, and fraternity.”


The walkathon featured enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with students and youth from various local organizations.


The event concluded with a collective salute to the national flag and the singing of the National Anthem, celebrating the essence of Azadi ka Amrit.
