Seizure of Hydroponic Cannabis at IGI Airport

At Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi, customs officials apprehended two Indian nationals arriving from Bangkok after discovering 2.14 kilograms of suspected hydroponic cannabis in their trolley bags. This incident was reported by officials on Thursday.

According to an official statement, the travelers arrived on July 29 and were stopped after passing through the customs green channel based on identification made through the Advance Passenger Information System (APIS).

During an X-ray examination of their luggage, customs officials observed suspicious images. A detailed inspection revealed the presence of 2.14 kilograms of suspected hydroponic cannabis in their bags. Hydroponic cannabis is a type of marijuana cultivated artificially in nutrient-rich water instead of soil.

The statement indicated that the suspected cannabis was confiscated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985, along with the bag in which it was concealed.
