Tragic Murder-Suicide in Bengaluru: Autorickshaw Driver Kills Wife and Takes His Own Life

Bengaluru, Sep 9: A tragic incident unfolded in Vibhutipura, Bengaluru, where a 38-year-old autorickshaw driver allegedly murdered his wife before taking his own life. The police reported that the incident occurred following a domestic dispute at their home.
The victims have been identified as Raghavendra, son of Muniraju, and his wife, Shruthi Raghavendra, aged 30, who worked as a housemaid.
Authorities believe that a family conflict led to this unfortunate event late Tuesday night. After fatally stabbing Shruthi with a beer bottle, Raghavendra reportedly hanged himself inside their residence.
The couple had two children, who are currently residing with their maternal grandparents in Davanagere, located near Bengaluru.
At the time of the incident, only Raghavendra and Shruthi were present in their Vibhutipura home.
Initial investigations indicate that the couple often argued over Shruthi's frequent use of her mobile phone to watch social media reels.
It is suspected that an argument erupted on Tuesday night when Raghavendra discovered his wife engaged with her phone, leading to a violent confrontation.
Reports suggest that the argument escalated, resulting in Raghavendra attacking Shruthi with the beer bottle and stabbing her in the abdomen, causing her immediate death. Following this, he took his own life.
While the couple's quarrels over her phone usage are being considered a potential trigger, police are still working to determine the precise motives and circumstances that led to this tragic event.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, the HAL Police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. The bodies have been sent for legal examination, and a case has been registered.
The couple reportedly fell in love while studying together 18 years ago and later married with their families' approval.
They had relocated to Bengaluru from Davanagere and purchased a home in Vibhutipura, where Shruthi was employed at a local apartment complex.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to clarify the sequence of events and the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Raghavendra and Shruthi.
