Giridih (Jharkhand), June 8: In a shocking incident, a father reportedly killed his three young daughters using a sharp weapon in Giridih district on Monday morning, according to police reports.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was apprehended shortly after the tragic event.

The attack occurred in Turukdih village, within the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station, causing widespread fear and disbelief among the local community.

The victims have been identified as Pallavi Yadav, aged 14, and her six-year-old twin sisters, Riddhi and Siddhi Yadav.

As per police accounts, the accused, Nandu Yadav, unexpectedly became violent in the morning and assaulted his daughters inside their home, delivering multiple fatal blows. All three girls succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Family members rushed to help upon hearing the children's screams, but the assailant persisted in his attack.

Witnesses reported that the accused's wife and their son managed to escape to another part of the house during the chaos, avoiding injury.

The brutal nature of the killings has plunged the village into mourning, with many residents gathering at the site as news of the tragedy spread.

Upon receiving the report, Mufassil police station head Shyam Kishore Mahto and Sadar SDPO Jitwahan Oraon arrived at the village with a police team. The suspect was swiftly taken into custody to protect him from the anger of the local populace.

Authorities have secured the bodies and are preparing to send them to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Sadar SDPO Jitwahan Oraon stated that the investigation is being conducted with the utmost care, and the motive behind the horrific act remains unclear.

A forensic team has been summoned to gather scientific evidence related to the case.

Police officials indicated that more information regarding the circumstances surrounding the crime will be revealed following the autopsy report and thorough questioning of the suspect.
