Previous Incidents

For instance, on September 22, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) was probing the death of a 35-year-old man who died while in the custody of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai.
The deceased, identified as Imran Shaikh, had traveled from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh seeking employment. Reports indicate that he had approached the RPF post at CSMT on September 20, inquiring about trains to Khandwa. Witnesses noted that he seemed distressed, claiming threats to his life, and later became aggressive, injuring both himself and an RPF Sub-Inspector.
