Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives in Karnataka

Dharwad (Karnataka), September 1: A tragic car accident on National Highway 4 near Venkatapur village resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left three others with serious injuries in the early hours of Tuesday.

The victims have been identified as K.U. Vinayak, 25; Manjunath, 29; and Basavaraja, 34, all hailing from Davangere district. They were reportedly in Dharwad for catering services.

Initial reports indicate that the car was en route to Dharwad after the group had dined at a roadside eatery on the city's outskirts.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when a lorry unexpectedly appeared in front of the vehicle. In an effort to avoid a collision, the driver, Basavanagowda, slammed on the brakes.

This sudden maneuver caused the driver to lose control, resulting in the car crashing into the road divider at high speed and overturning.

Three passengers died instantly, while the remaining three, including the driver, suffered serious injuries and were transported to Dharwad District Hospital for medical attention.

Authorities from the Garag police station arrived at the scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

It is worth noting that just a few days prior, on August 28, a separate collision near Godekere Gate in Tumakuru district claimed the lives of four individuals, including a three-year-old girl, and left five others injured.

The deceased from that incident were identified as Anil, 32, and Vivek, 31, from Chikkanayakanahalli, along with Davud Pasha and his daughter Anaam from Turuvekere. Police reported that the crash occurred when a Kia car from Turuvekere collided with a Volkswagen coming from Chikkanayakanahalli, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.

Additionally, two separate road accidents in north Bengaluru on Monday resulted in fatalities. In one case, 68-year-old R.A. Babu was killed when a garbage truck struck his motorcycle near Goraguntepalya around 9:30 a.m. Babu was riding towards CMT when the truck collided with him, causing him to fall and come under the vehicle's wheels.

In another incident, 38-year-old vendor Mahesh lost his life after his motorcycle crashed into a parked lorry on the Peenya flyover around 3:30 a.m. Mahesh was en route to Dasanapura market to sell lemons.
