North Lakhimpur, June 13: A tragic incident occurred in Arunachal Pradesh's East Kameng district, where five individuals from Lakhimpur, Assam, lost their lives when their SUV fell into a steep gorge along National Highway 13.


The accident took place near Tatatara village in the Seppa Circle, close to the Pagaso stream. Four of the passengers died instantly, while one succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.


The victims have been identified as Bulbul Ali, Noor Hussain, Abul Hussain, Amzad Ali, and Saidul Islam, all hailing from Bhorolua village in the Nowboicha Revenue Circle of Lakhimpur.


Initial reports suggest that the vehicle lost control and veered off the highway, resulting in the plunge into the gorge.


Sources indicate that the victims were businessmen traveling from Nowboicha to the Seppa market at the time of the accident.


Eyewitnesses have pointed to wet road conditions due to recent rainfall as a possible factor that caused the driver to lose control.


Authorities have stated that the precise cause of the accident is still under investigation.


In the aftermath of the crash, local residents, police, and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene to conduct a rescue operation, recovering the bodies from the gorge.


This tragic event has brought sorrow to Bhorolua village and surrounding areas, where the deceased were well-known members of the local business community.
