The shocking theft occurred at the Lodhipur cremation ground during the last rites of 16-year-old Shubanshu, who had succumbed to a severe illness. After the cremation, the family returned home, only to discover later that the skull was missing from the pyre, prompting them to alert the authorities.

How the Case Unfolded

Given the seriousness of the situation, police reviewed nearby CCTV footage, which revealed three suspicious individuals leaving the crematorium on a moped. This led to the apprehension of the suspects.

According to CO Varun Mishra, the main suspect, Aman, was infatuated with a girl and sought the help of black magic to win her over. He allegedly contacted a local sorcerer, Avadhesh Sharma, who instructed him to procure a human skull from a burning pyre.

Motivation Behind the Horrific Plan

The sorcerer convinced Aman that the skull would enable him to perform a spell that would make the girl and her family fall under his control. This misguided belief led Aman to commit the theft and attempt to deliver the skull to the sorcerer.

Findings During the Search

During the search of the sorcerer's premises, police uncovered several suspicious and objectionable items related to black magic practices, along with photographs of approximately 50 individuals, suggesting that similar rituals may have been conducted. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine if this group has been involved in other similar incidents.
