Bengaluru, July 29: A shocking incident unfolded in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where a severed human head was discovered on a cricket field in Kodathi, falling under the jurisdiction of the Varthur police, on Wednesday.

According to law enforcement officials, the horrifying find was made by a group of young boys who arrived early to play cricket. Upon spotting the severed head, they promptly notified the Varthur police.

Authorities quickly arrived at the scene and conducted an initial examination. However, the rest of the body has yet to be located.

Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to determine the events leading up to this incident. Police suspect that the head may have been transported to the ground via motorcycle, as tire marks consistent with a two-wheeler were discovered at the location.

The Varthur police are in the process of collecting initial information and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

Details regarding the victim's identity and the motive behind this crime are still pending.

This incident has instilled fear among local residents, while police continue their efforts to unravel the sequence of events.

On August 10, 2025, a severed head along with dismembered body parts of a woman was found stuffed in several plastic bags along a road in Kolala village, Koratagere, Tumakuru.

Initially, on August 7, passersby alerted the police about seven bags containing the woman's body parts. Following this, the Koratagere police searched the area and discovered seven additional bags with body parts and the head on August 8. The police were able to identify the woman using the head.

Investigations revealed that the perpetrators arrived in a car to dispose of the body, which was found scattered along the road connecting Chimpuganhalli and Venkatapura villages.

The victim was identified as 42-year-old Lakshmidevamma. Authorities arrested her son-in-law, Dr. Ramachandrappa S., a local dentist, along with two accomplices who admitted to dismembering the body to eliminate evidence following family disputes.
