Husband Arrested After Brutal Murder of Wife in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 15: A tragic incident unfolded in the Oshiwara area of Andheri West, Mumbai, where a woman was violently murdered by her husband, as reported by officials on Wednesday.

Authorities revealed that the husband attacked his wife with a sizable stone and subsequently used a knife to slit her throat during a heated argument.

After the assault, he fled the scene but was apprehended by law enforcement a few hours later.

The altercation occurred near a traffic signal, not far from the Oshiwara Police Station, late on Tuesday night. Police indicated that the couple's dispute escalated significantly.

Initial investigations suggest that the argument became increasingly intense, prompting the husband to grab a large stone and strike his wife. He then allegedly used a knife to inflict fatal injuries.

The woman fell to the ground, suffering from severe blood loss due to the attack, according to officials.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, a team from the Oshiwara Police Station quickly arrived at the location and transported the injured woman to Cooper Hospital for medical assistance.

Medical staff at Cooper Hospital examined her but unfortunately pronounced her dead shortly after arrival.

The husband attempted to escape the scene to avoid capture. However, police swiftly initiated a search operation and located him within hours.

A murder charge has been filed against the husband under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities are currently interrogating him to determine the motive behind the crime and to piece together the events leading to the tragic incident.

Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
